About

I have nearly died at every major turn in my life. I must be meant to be here.

Amanda Moyer-Doll is a poet, a photographer, and an author. Born in Edmonds, Washington, her journey as a poet began in10th grade, when her English teacher encouraged her to share her innermost thoughts. She found that through the lyrical expression of word, she could express emotions that threatened to consume her soul. To this day, her poetry has remained a significant outlet for her throughout her life. A select group of her collection is featured in her self-published E-collection of poetry and short stories titled Sunset Dawn.

Amanda writes stories that are strongly informed by her oldest son's view of the world as an autistic child in "normal" society and stories that reflect, even in fantasy, the realities of the times they are set in. Her latest project is novel titled Engleverdenen, a fantasy novel that explores what it would be like to become trapped in the realm that exists between life and death, or between sleep and being awake and touches on what it was like to be an Active Duty Service-member during Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.

She graduated in 2015 from the challenging Bachelor of the Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing for the Entertainment Industry at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida and completed a Media Communications certificate at the same university in 2020. She lives in Everett, Washington with her two sons and her dog. Amanda is also an out and proud Lesbian who firmly believes that Trans-Women are Women and Trans-Men are Men. She also will shout from the mountains that pepper her state that Black Lives Matter.

In August 2015, shortly after graduating from Full Sail in May, Amanda was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder that she has been battling since. She believes that God put the practice of medicine into the hearts of the team of doctors who have been saving her life ever since.

Amanda’s goal is share her struggles, and to approach her writing from a unique point of view in order to reach to reach people who may need encouragement with their own challenges. It is her sincere desire to touch their souls and minds, and to make their lives just a little richer and brighter one stanza at a time.
